Vienna, Austria | 16–17 June 2026

Europe’s fast-evolving free-from and plant-based sector is entering a new era — and Free From Food 2026 is positioning itself at the centre of it.
Following its strongest edition to date, the event returns to Vienna on 16–17 June 2026 with a bold expansion: for the first time, it will be co-located with the Premium Food & Ingredients exhibitions, creating one of Central Europe’s most dynamic trade platforms where gourmet excellence meets health-driven innovation.
The move reflects a powerful shift reshaping the global food industry. Today’s consumers are no longer satisfied with products that are simply gluten-free, lactose-free or plant-based. They demand premium quality, artisanal craftsmanship, clean-label transparency and sustainability — without compromising on taste or experience. Free-from is no longer a niche; it is converging with the premium food market.
By bringing together free-from specialists alongside premium food and ingredient suppliers under one roof, the 2026 edition responds directly to this market evolution. Buyers will be able to source everything from allergen-free bakery and dairy alternatives to specialty olive oils, fine chocolates, clean-label ingredients and gourmet beverages — all within a single, curated environment.
The 2025 edition welcomed more than 5,500 buyers and over 280 exhibitors from 31 countries, marking a 15% increase in attendance and reinforcing Vienna’s growing importance as a gateway between Western, Central and Eastern Europe. Organisers expect further growth in 2026, driven by expanded international participation and increased crossover between health-focused and premium retail channels.
A key driver behind the event’s strategic repositioning is a strengthened network of international partnerships. The globally recognised vegan certification body V-Label joins the event to enhance visibility and trust within the plant-based sector. Collaboration with ADILAC and LIGN reinforces the show’s authority within lactose intolerance and dairy-free markets. Sustainability takes centre stage through cooperation with the European Sustainable Food Coalition, reflecting the growing regulatory and consumer focus on responsible production.
The event is also proud to collaborate with organisations such as the Hungarian Coeliac Society, supporting awareness and education around gluten-free lifestyles, and ASCAME, whose network of Mediterranean chambers of commerce helps strengthen cross-border trade opportunities and international participation.
Market intelligence will be amplified through insights from FMCG Gurus, providing buyers and exhibitors with forward-looking data on shifting consumer behaviour. Innovation excellence will once again be recognised in collaboration with the Free From Food Awards, celebrating brands that successfully bridge functionality and indulgence.
According to Event Director Ronald Holman, the co-location marks a strategic turning point:
“The lines between health-focused products and premium food have blurred. Retailers are looking for products that deliver indulgence, transparency, sustainability and dietary inclusivity all at once. By co-locating with Premium Food & Ingredients exhibitions, we are creating a platform that mirrors exactly where the market is heading.”
The 2026 edition will feature expanded tasting experiences and curated pairing concepts designed to highlight the convergence trend — from gluten-free pastries crafted with artisan ingredients to vegan chocolate presented alongside premium beverages. The aim is to demonstrate that free-from is no longer about substitution, but about elevation.
Hosted once again at Marx Halle in Vienna, the event benefits from its strategic central location, attracting buyers from Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and the Czech Republic. With over 30% of 2025 exhibitors already rebooked, early indicators point to strong commercial confidence in the 2026 edition.
As the European food market continues to shift toward lifestyle-driven purchasing — where wellness, ethics and premiumisation intersect — Free From Food 2026 positions itself not simply as a trade fair, but as a reflection of the industry’s next chapter.
