Bangkok, Thailand – Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), a global leader in health technology, today announced the relaunch of its Learning and Experience Center, in collaboration with its long-term partner Xovic, a leading medical technology distribution company in Thailand. The enhanced facility, located at Xovic’s site in Bangkok, features Philips’ comprehensive suite of Hospital Patient Monitoring systems and Connected Care technologies enhanced with advanced clinical decision support capabilities. The Learning Center will provide clinical onsite and remote trainings and support to healthcare professionals in using these technologies, empowering them to work more efficiently, with greater confidence in clinical decision making.

Alexei Costa

“Technology is truly effective when it works in rhythm with the dynamic needs of our healthcare system today. Leveraging Philips’ innovation strength for over 130 years, we are continually bringing new capabilities into our patient monitoring platforms and integrated care systems to meet the rising demand and complexity in hospital care,” said Alexei Costa, Head of Growth Region, Hospital Patient Monitoring. “The future of healthcare hinges on equipping providers with the latest skills and capabilities to keep up with new technologies. By doing so, we optimize patient care and revolutionize health outcomes.”

With rising patient volume and care needs amid Thailand’s aging population and health workforce challenges, there is an urgent need to accelerate healthcare digital transformation to improve health system productivity. Philips Future Health Index 2023 report found that nearly half (44%) of younger healthcare professionals surveyed in APAC said they need better training on new technologies to feel empowered to improve patient care.

The Learning Center will be equipped with Philips’ comprehensive suite of hospital patient monitoring platforms and integrated care systems which enhance the patient journey from the emergency room to the general ward. Healthcare professionals will be trained on utilizing a complete range of bedside and transport monitors, central station, and mobile applications that integrate seamlessly to reduce complexity in healthcare settings.

Data and actionable Insights are highly relevant for critical decision making in clinical care. The Center will feature integrated care systems equipped with advanced clinical decision support solutions working in tandem with smart alarms to identify and promptly alert caregivers to critical events. These integrated systems continuously capture patient data from monitors and medical devices, securely integrating it into emergency medical records (EMR), ensuring seamless patient records from admission to discharge and during transport.

The Learning Center will provide personalized education in clinical, technical, and operational areas to support healthcare professionals’ development. Learning will be offered in a range of formats including classroom sessions, technical training, and updates on the latest clinical procedures and technologies.
