WiXtar and SUNMAI Launch Future AI Bistro Lab Integrating Five Senses and AI to Transform SmartF&B Operations in Asia-Pacific

Human-Robot Collaboration Enhances Efficiency and Precision in F&B: From AI-Powered Ordering to Cloud Based Decision-Making, a Modular Framework Accelerates Industry Transformation

According to the 2024 Third Manpower Demand Survey, the accommodation and F&B industries’ labor demand increased by a net of 5,090 people in the fourth quarter, resulting in severe labor shortages. In light of the challenges facing the F&B industry’s operations, Partner Tech Corp. and WiXtar- mother company of Epoint Systems, collaborated at the BenQ Group’s “COMPUTEX AI WOW” exhibition area, which focused on the AI digital transformation of a craft beer restaurant brand. The period-exclusive Future AI Bistro Lab, which incorporates voice, images, prediction, and other AI technologies, fully presents the AI smart operation processes from the store front line to the headquarters backstage, demonstrating how human-robot collaboration will reshape the F&B industry.

Collaborating with SUNMAI to develop the five senses of the Future AI Bistro Lab: From meal ordering to serving, AI is omnipresent.

WiXtar collaborates with SUNMAI, known for producing craft beer and wine experiences. The concept “Future AI Bistro Lab” is based on the five senses – taste (tasting), smell (aroma of beer), touch (interactive meal ordering), vision (image recognition), and hearing (voice interaction) – redefines AI as not only a program code but also a frontline store operation helper that talks, takes orders, recognize, and predict, thus realizing a smart closed-loop from interaction, meal preparation, to prediction.

AI virtual tour of meal ordering: AI Kiosk, which includes a virtual staff, has integrated an D8AI product recommendation model and a DSIGroup customer identification module to interact and respond in real time, recommend products, and guide the meal-ordering process. This creates an immersive experience, as if it were a real staff. The system also automatically recommends products based on meal ordering behaviors and preferences, supports multiple languages and voice operation, prioritizes customer orders, optimizes the experience, and lowers the operational threshold.

AI image recognition for meal serving: The order contents are cross-checked using the KDS kitchen system linked to the image recognition module, combined with real-time projection for image capture. This significantly reduces meal serving errors and speeds up meal serving processes, allowing the kitchen to maintain consistent quality.

AI Order Forecast and the Headquarters War Room: Three data dimensions are integrated: historical POS sales and purchasing data, external variables (such as weather, festivals, and promotional activities), and internal enterprise budget plans. AI modeling technology can accurately predict the daily revenue and order volume for the upcoming week. As per empirical evidence, the predicted error is less than 4%, with a minimum of 3.2%. The system will predict data and convert it into precise ordering recommendations for the store. This is expected to cut order decision-making time by 80%, improve manpower utilization, reduce raw material wear, and enhance the store manager’s operational performance.

To Overcome Manpower Shortages and Prediction Blind Zone, WiXtar Releases New AI F&B Framework.

WiXtar will debut the three core segments of the upgraded smart store at the COMPUTEX “Future AI Bistro Lab” exhibition area, achieving smart connectivity from frontline interaction to backstage control and headquarters decision-making.

Interaction frontline: AI virtual staff and AI Kiosk smart F&B modules, when combined with product recommendations and customer analysis technology, can provide a real-time interaction experience similar to that of a human. Meals are recommended based on customer behavior, resulting in a higher average order value and improved meal ordering efficiency.

Data backstage: The AI image recognition system is used in the F&B industry, and when combined with real-time order content analysis and kitchen management processes, it can ensure meal serving accuracy, reduce human errors, improve operational smoothness, and stabilize meal serving quality.

Cloud decision-making: WiXtar developed the “TQG Forecast- Store Decision-making System” to tackle the problem of ordering based on experience and manpower inventory. This system reconstructs the smart supply chain from the customer to the manufacturer. The system can forecast business trends and provide accurate ordering recommendations. The headquarters war room can assist with cross-store dispatch and

regional goods preparation, thereby improving supply chain agility, reducing wear, and strengthening operational resilience.

May Kang, CEO of WiXtar, stated, “True digital transformation does not only involve technology introduction; the key lies in reshaping processes and site connecting points. In the future, the core of F&B and retail will revolve around human-robot collaboration, rather than replacing manpower. Despite labor shortages, we are committed to using AI to improve human resource efficiency and service value, assisting businesses in achieving data-driven operational upgrades and long-term transformation.”

Creating an Asia-pacific Rapid Replication Model with the Modularized System. WiXtar began with POS and has been deeply invested in the chain F&B system for many years. It has a 20% market share in Taiwan and is rapidly expanding into Southeast Asian markets via its subsidiary Epoint Systems in Singapore (local POS market share reaching 30%). WiXtar has promoted the opening of stores around the world using LaaS data platform. It has successfully helped several chainbrands enter Singapore, Japan, the United States, and other regional markets. Furthermore, in response to the disparities between Asia-Pacific markets, such as language, tax systems, and laws and regulations, a smart operational structure with modular deployment and rapid replication has been developed.

WiXtar and Partner Tech Corp. will showcase the integrative application of AI technology in F&B and retail venues at the BenQ Group’s Computex AI Wow Exhibition, putting human-robot collaboration into action. This will lead to the creation of a smarter and more sustainable future through collaborative efforts.
